Get to Know Me: Your Spiritual Director
Welcome to the world of spiritual direction. I'm Wendy B. Russel, and I'm excited to share a bit about who I am and how I can assist you on your spiritual journey. I am a creative, energetic, deeply spiritual being who loves to find the sacred connection in the midst of the ordinary, not just in my own life but in the lives of others.
My Journey
For the past 30 years, I have worked in the arenas of fine arts, music, creative writing, dance, and visual arts. Spirit has always accompanied me on each of these paths and enriched my life immeasurably, infusing each artistic endeavor with a sense of purpose and deepening my connection to the creative process.
I received training and certification in Spiritual Direction from StillPoint and am a member of Spiritual Directors International (SDI). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Medicine from West Virginia University and a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Claremont School of Theology. For 15 years, I worked in clinical and research laboratory medicine. For the past 30 years, I have worked as a fine arts director. I served as a music director, teacher, choir clinician, retreat leader, choreographer, preacher, spiritual director and camp chaplain for both children and adult groups.
My Mission
As a spiritual director, I am dedicated to helping you discover your sacred story through deep, attentive listening. My mission is to increase your awareness of how the divine shows up and moves in your daily life.
My greatest joy is to help others find the places where the divine intersects their lives. I consider my role as spiritual director to be a privileged witness to the spiritual unfolding in another’s life. Through attentive listening, I will help the directee discern the movement of the Spirit in their life.
