How did you get started doing this type of work?

I had the typical hectic life of a wife and mother with a fulltime career. As a choral director, music teacher, singer, dancer, choreographer, textile artist, retreat leader and published author, I often felt stretched too thin to be resilient. I discovered that by adding a few sacred pauses in my daily routine, I was able to attune myself to the beauty, blessing and abundant wonder that kept me connected to the pulse of creation and the Creator. I incorporated that into everything I did, from childrearing to choir directing and found wonderful connections. It was through choral directing that I discovered so many other people were also searching for ways to connect with their spiritual dimension. I began offering guided meditations on the texts we were singing as a part of my choral rehearsals. This lead to offering retreats on lectio and viseo divina as well as teaching and preaching on how to go inward and find where spirit is speaking.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My education and life experiences are a tapestry, woven from threads of science, the arts and spiritual connection. My undergraduate degree in Laboratory Medicine and 15 years working in clinical, research and reference labs laid the groundwork for understanding the neuroscience behind and need for contemplative practices. My graduate work in music pedagogy, choral direction and worship arts was my personal portal into the world of expressing spiritual connections. I have a Masters of Theological Studies in Spiritual Formation from Claremont School of Theology and went on to receive my certification in spiritual direction from Still point. I am active in a faith community, a service community, a spiritual direction community, an arts community and a beautiful extended family.

Whether it is as an individual client, or as a member of a group spiritual direction, I look forward to journeying with you and listening to your sacred stories. Fill out a “Getting to know you” form and I will reach out to you to discuss which kind of session will best suits your needs. I have free introductory sessions for both individual and group spiritual direction.

First, fill out a “Getting to Know You” form and email it to me. I will reach out to you to discern which kind of direction will best suit your needs and schedule. You can arrange to have a free introductory session or go straight to scheduling. Payment is processed at the time of scheduling.
